OfficeMax to Open New State-of-the-Art Distribution Center in Edwardsville, Kansas
New Facility Boosts Service, Quality and Customer Support in Four-State Area
ITASCA, Ill., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OfficeMax® (NYSE: OMX), one of the nation's largest office supply distributors, plans to open a new 180,000 square foot distribution center in Edwardsville, Kansas in November, advancing the company's commitment to quality, accuracy and timely deliveries, while bringing 30 - 40 new jobs to the Kansas City area. Once complete, the facility will employ approximately 150 associates.
The new facility, located at 2401 Midpoint Drive in the Midpoint Corporate Center, will be part of OfficeMax's efficient network of distribution centers nationwide. It will serve OfficeMax's business and retail customers in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Southern Illinois, delivering office supplies to enterprise, commercial, retail and internet customers, allowing for more upgraded and cost-effective operations.

"This new state-of-the-art facility will support our dedication to Kansas City and surrounding areas, helping to provide greater overall value to our customers."
The new distribution center is substantially larger than the one it is replacing at 6601 Universal Avenue in Kansas City. The new location was chosen because Edwardsville provides a good central point to get office products to customers more quickly and efficiently.
