Chief Executive Officer
Gerry P. Smith was named Chief Executive Officer of Office Depot, Inc. and a Director in February 2017. Prior to joining Office Depot, Smith served as Executive Vice President of Lenovo Group Ltd. and served in a number of senior executive roles across the business. Gerry joined Lenovo in 2006 and was instrumental in the company’s growth to become the largest personal computer (PC) company. He was also a leader in building the company’s global brand recognition and expansion during the past decade.
In his role as Executive Vice President, he was responsible for operations across Lenovo’s global product portfolio. Previously as Chief Operating Officer of the Personal Computing Group and Enterprise Business Group, he led Lenovo to the top position in world-wide PC sales and as President of the Americas, he led Lenovo’s America’s Group to record market share and profits. He also served as Senior Vice President of Lenovo’s Global Supply Chain, where his leadership was recognized by leading research firm, Gartner, in ranking Lenovo’s supply chain among the best in the world.
Prior to Lenovo, Gerry held a number of executive positions at Dell, as the company became a global leader in PCs. In his last role, he built the Dell Singapore Design Center and led Dell to the leading market position in flat panels as Vice President and General Manager of Displays. He is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University.

Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary
N. David Bleisch was named Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Office Depot, Inc. in September 2017. In this role, Bleisch leads the strategic direction of the legal organization and operations, as well as manages the regulatory and compliance matters for the company. Additionally, he is responsible for Human Resources, Loss Prevention, Real Estate, Construction and Aviation.
Bleisch has broad expertise in securities compliance, enterprise risk management, corporate finance, antitrust, litigation, intellectual property management, government and regulatory affairs, investor relations, labor and employment issues, shareholder engagement, class action lawsuits and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Office Depot, Bleisch was Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for The ADT Corporation, where he managed the legal, environmental, health and safety, government affairs and corporate governance matters.
Earlier in his career, Bleisch served in several leadership roles at Tyco International before being appointed Vice President and General Counsel of Tyco Security Solutions. He also managed the intellectual property legal group for all of Tyco’s operating segments worldwide.
Bleisch received his Juris Doctor Degree from Boston College Law School.
President, Business Solutions Division
Steve Calkins was named President, Business Solutions Division for Office Depot, Inc. in May 2017. In this role, Calkins is responsible for leading the company’s B2B efforts, including the contract sales organization and the Canadian operations.
Most recently, Calkins served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for the company. Prior to that appointment, he held various executive leadership roles in operations since 2011, including Executive Vice President, Contract Sales. In addition to overseeing Office Depot’s contract sales business and the Canadian operations in that role, he was also responsible for Copy & Print Services and Customer Service across North American selling channels.
Calkins joined Office Depot in the Legal department in 2003, serving in various capacities including Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, after having served several years in private practice.
Calkins is a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Executive Vice President, Chief Customer Officer
Jerri DeVard was named Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer for Office Depot, Inc. in January 2018. In this role, DeVard leads eCommerce and Customer Service functions as well as Marketing and Communications. She has company-wide responsibility for improving experiences along the customer journey as Office Depot creates a persistent customer-first mentality across physical and digital channels. Additionally, DeVard is responsible for leading the strategy for furthering the company’s brand positioning as well as driving the growth and implementation of strategic marketing activities that build brand equity and increase market share.
DeVard joined Office Depot in September 2017 as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to joining Office Depot, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for The ADT Corporation, a global brand that is the nation's largest security company. She led ADT’s centralized marketing across the residential, small business and health business units and was responsible for all strategic, operational and financial aspects of the company’s integrated marketing programs. Prior to ADT, DeVard held various marketing leadership positions for Nokia, Verizon and Citigroup. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Under Armour, Inc. and Cars.com.
DeVard earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Spelman College and an MBA in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University.

Executive Vice President, Transformation, Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain
John W. Gannfors was named Executive Vice President, Transformation, Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain in July 2017. In this role, Gannfors is leading Office Depot’s Transformation Office, process improvement and strategic sourcing, as well as overseeing the company’s procurement and supply chain functions. Previously, Gannsfors served as Executive Vice President, Transformation and Strategic Sourcing. Gannfors is a global leader with a proven track record of creating immediate value in diverse organizations by driving strategy and strategic alignment, effective operational business transformation and strategic sourcing initiatives. He joined Office Depot after nearly ten years at Lenovo Group Limited, where he was instrumental in driving business results as a key leader in its Data Center Group Global Supply Chain and as its Chief Procurement Officer.
Prior to joining Lenovo, he spent 12 years in leadership roles at Dell. Gannfors began his career in Product Management at Lockheed Martin’s Calcomp division, as well as Definicon Systems. Gannfors earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Lutheran University.

Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Todd Hale was named Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Office Depot, Inc. in August 2016. In this role, Hale is responsible for defining the Company’s IT architecture, managing and overseeing IT projects and portfolio decisions, planning and developing applications supporting business operations, and ensuring the security of IT systems and processes. In addition, Hale leads the newly formed Enterprise Portfolio Management Office responsible for facilitating the successful execution of key strategic initiatives.
Previously, Hale served as Senior Vice President, North American Chief Information Officer for Office Depot. During Hale’s time with Office Depot, he has led a number of transformational initiatives including the deployment of Global Merchandising, Supply Chain and eCommerce solutions. Hale joined Office Depot in 2004 where he held several positions of increasing responsibility such as Director, IT Supply Chain Systems; Senior Director, Merchandising, Marketing and Inventory Management Systems; and Vice President, North American Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Applications Development. Prior to joining Office Depot, Hale held various IT leadership positions with the Eckerd Corporation. He began his career in retail consulting for Proctor & Gamble and Walmart.
Hale holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a BS in Micro Biology from the University of Arkansas.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Joe Lower was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Office Depot, Inc. in January 2018. In this role, Lower is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, as well as managing the tax, internal audit, treasury and investor relations functions.
Lower most recently served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at B/E Aerospace, Inc. where he oversaw all the financial reporting for the company. Prior to joining B/E Aerospace, he was Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for The Boeing Company, where he spent 12 years. Among other finance positions, Lower spent six years with Credit Suisse in various investment banking roles including positions in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
Lower earned a Master of Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Senior Vice President, Chief Retail Officer
Kevin Moffitt was named Senior Vice President, Chief Retail Officer for Office Depot, Inc. in January 2018. In this role, Moffitt is responsible for reimagining Office Depot's retail business and collaborating across the executive team to solidify the company's growth strategy leveraging its retail footprint. Additionally, he is responsible for leading BizBox and developing other innovative business strategies.
Moffitt, who joined Office Depot in July 2012, has over 20 years of experience in omnichannel and e-commerce business management. Previously, Moffitt served as Chief Digital Officer, where he was responsible for the Direct business P&L and created a world-class online experience for Office Depot's customers. Additionally, he was responsible for building the company’s digital platforms and identifying new ways to accelerate growth online, along with mobile and new digital services.
Moffitt earned an MBA in Strategic Leadership from the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. He also holds a MA in Documentary Filmmaking from Northeastern University and a BA from Pepperdine University.
Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising & Services Officer
Janet Schijns was named Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising and Services Officer for Office Depot, Inc. in January 2018. In this role, Schijns is responsible for merchandise and services strategy across all channels creating the company’s product and services roadmaps to ensure the establishment of products and services that differentiate Office Depot. Additionally, she leads the development of merchandise pricing and positioning strategies, runs the indirect agent and VAR sales channel and manages all vendor and partner relationships. Schijns also oversees the tech, copy, and print services growth strategies supporting the company’s omni-channel approach.
Schijns joined Office Depot in July 2017 as Senior Vice President, Chief Merchandising and Services Officer. Prior to Office Depot, Schijns was Chief Channel Executive and Vice President for Verizon Business Markets where she defined, designed, and executed on expanded distribution and digital channel strategy serving Verizon Business Markets, Verizon Enterprise Solutions and Verizon Wireless Business Group. Prior to that, Schijns was CEO of The JS Group a high-tech consulting firm that provided go to market expertise to many top firms in the industry. Additionally, she has held leadership roles at Motorola - Enterprise Mobility Solutions, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, First Fidelity and L’Oreal.
Schijns earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Montclair State University and is the founder of Tech World’s Half a private digital community committed to keeping women in technology.
Dan Stone joined Office Depot, Inc. in November 2017 as President of CompuCom following the acquisition. In this role, Stone is responsible for providing strong global leadership and operational excellence to advance CompuCom’s mission and strategy. He shapes and executes the strategy that enables CompuCom to deliver "best-in-breed" IT services and solutions to its clients – harnessing CompuCom’s people, culture, capabilities and portfolio to pursue market opportunities that drive growth.
Prior to Stone’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer of CompuCom in November 2016, he served as Executive Vice President and President, End-User Enablement (EUE), a core strength in CompuCom’s market-leading portfolio that helps IT executives manage the convergence of social interaction, mobility, Big Data and cloud – empowering end users as they interact with each other and their information. Stone accelerated EUE’s growth by enhancing CompuCom’s penetration in the growing end-user computing market, where CompuCom has deep expertise.
Prior to CompuCom, Stone served as President and General Manager of Lenovo Latin America where he led 7,000 employees across 15 countries and two continents, and operated six vertically integrated manufacturing sites. Previously, Stone was the Chief Strategy Officer at Lenovo, leading the development and implementation of global corporate strategy technology investments, strategic partnerships/alliances, as well as post-merger management activities across the globe. He also held roles at McKinsey & Company and served as a Team Commander in the Israeli Defense Forces.
Stone holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Hebrew University.
